MG Cyberster triumphs at Top Gear Electric Awards

MG's brand-new high-performance EV, the MG Cyberster, has been named 'Best EV Roadster' in the 2024 Top Gear Electric Awards. 

Now in its fifth year, the Awards celebrate the best cars across the electric vehicle sector in a range of different categories. 

Top Gear's expert panel of judges rated the Cyberster as the 'Best EV Roadster' thanks to its breathtaking driving performance and refined handling. 

Arriving in the UK in August 2024 to celebrate MG's centenary, the Cyberster pays tribute to the brand's heritage of producing iconic two-seat sports cars, while looking ahead to an exhilarating electric future. 

Top Gear Magazine's Associate Editor, Tom Ford, said that the Cyberster “takes the brand somewhere new” and “is unique in its sector.” The praise continued, with Ford adding that “the big news is that the Cyberster is a hoot to drive” and is “absolutely enough for a twisty loop of road.”

The MG Cyberster boasts sophisticated design, both inside and out. The eye-catching roadster features 19” alloy wheels, electric opening scissor doors, a fully electric hood and wraparound 3-screen cockpit as standard. 

The new Cyberster offers drivers both single and dual motor options that each produce outstanding electric performance and an all-round thrilling driving experience. The dual motor in the top spec Cyberster GT model creates up to 503 BHP (375 kW) and powers from 0-62 MPH in a lightning-quick 3.2 seconds.

The rear-wheel drive, single motor version still offers sublime performance. This Trophy model produces 335 BHP (250 KW) and has an outstanding electric driving range of 316 miles. 

The electric roadster is available to order now at Chapelhouse MG in Southport, St Helens, Wigan and Bolton. And as with all new MG cars, the Cyberster comes with MG's comprehensive 7-year/80,000-mile warranty deal.
