Kia EV9 boasts ultra-fast rapid charging time of 15 minutes
Kia has announced further details of the ultra-fast rapid charging capability of the brand-new EV9. Up to 148 miles of electric driving range can be added with as little as 15 minutes of 800-volt charging. That's the distance between Manchester and Newcastle-upon-Tyne!
The maximum driving range for the EV9 will total 336 miles from a single charge. This is an amazing achievement for a large electric SUV with the ability of accommodating up to six or seven occupants.
Built on Kia's Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV9 is streets ahead of the electric SUV pack. The long wheelbase, and completely flat EV battery architecture, provide generous space and lounge-style comfort for all passengers. When the EV9 is stationary, the second row of seats can recline for maximum comfort.
A separate option even allows for the middle seats to swivel 180 degrees. The middle passengers can then interact with those in the third-row face to face.
These innovative seating layouts redefine the possibilities for in-car activities, whether the car is parked, charging or camping.

This bi-directional power function is known as Vehicle to Load (V2L). V2L was first launched in the Kia EV6, and it allows Kia EV drivers to use the car as a mobile power source.
You can charge electrical devices on the go, such as camping equipment, e-bikes, and laptops, directly from the EV battery. The V2L function will be available in both the Standard version of the EV9 and the GT-Line spec.
The brand-new Kia Connect Store gives drivers the chance to update and upgrade their EV9 at any time and anywhere. New and unique lighting features can be added to the digital tiger face on the front of the vehicle.
