The Next Generation Suzuki Vitara SUV? 2022?

The next-generation Suzuki Vitara SUV - coming soon?

The Vitara has long been a staple of the Suzuki lineup. Award-winning and packed with features, it's always a firm favourite at Chapelhouse. As an SUV, it's comfortable and the height on the road feels secure.

We expect that there'll be both 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive options available, plus both automatic and manual gearboxes. But we can't wait to see what new SUV styling and different trim levels come with the new Suzuki Vitara.

What power unit will be used in the New Vitara?

The engine is likely to be the latest version of the 1.4-litre Boosterjet petrol unit, the K14D. The K14D engine is essentially an enhanced version of the K14C unit which was used in previous models. It is equipped with a fuel-saving mild-hybrid system called the Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS).

What's the Suzuki Vitara Mild Hybrid Engine technology?

The Vitaras mild-hybrid technology engine is paired with an electric motor that generates 10 kW (13.6 PS) and 50 Nm of torque. Using the energy gathered, this battery pack assists the engine with various functions like torque-fill control, torque boost, and idle stop.

Will the next Suzuki Vitara be available as a Hybrid?

Following the Suzuki Across, the next-gen Suzuki SUV could be the latest SUV to benefit from Toyota's advanced hybrid system.

The use of the Toyota Hybrid System (THS) would mean the Suzuki Vitara packing a significantly higher voltage secondary battery pack with more capacity. The mild hybrid's battery pack is limited to 48 volts, but in the case of a full hybrid, it can be up to 600 volts.

With MHEVs (Mild Hybrid Engine Vehicles), you don't even have to think about it being a hybrid. It's self-charging and does all the hard work for you automatically and the addition of hybrid technology ensures that co2 emissions and running costs will drop!

Latest Vitara in-car technology

The interior is also expected to receive significant changes, with a full redesign and the addition of the latest technology. The interior will feature a fully digital instrument cluster with customisable layouts. Plus, there's a Large HD touchscreen, Electronic parking brake, Wireless phone charging, Configurable mood lighting, and even 4G LTE Wi-FI hotspot.

With other manufacturers still only offering petrol and diesel engines, it's nice to see that the continued Vitara range will be advancing their Hybrid technology even further. Every model in the Suzuki range is now available as a hybrid engine. So if you're looking for something with Hybrid technology, but smaller, why not take a look at the Suzuki Ignis? Or if you're considering purchasing your next SUV for business, we have the Suzuki Jimny available at selected dealerships. Chapelhouse is proud to have 7 Suzuki Dealerships across the North West.
